Trying to balance one full-time job, helping to get another company off the ground, and still pursue as much guiding work and training as I can is a challenge. For sure. Add in time for myself and time with friends and family, and, well, some days I just don't know where time goes. I'm sure that's something we all relate to in one way or another. There just isn't enough time in a day, or a weekend for that matter.
Or is there? Magic happens when you make a bold commitment. It might involve sacrificing sleep, rolling the dice on weather and conditions, and just booking the damn ticket. A couple weekends ago, my good friend and I formulated an ambitious plan to go ski Mt Rainier in a weekend, and be back in time for work on Monday morning. We knew we were accepting some unknowns, and would be at the mercy of the finicky PNW weather. But flights were cheap. So we committed. This time, the gamble paid off.
